Volunteer Job Descriptions
Wish Volunteer
Description: Attend a four-hour Wish training class, complete
the background check within 30 days of training and fill out Volunteer
Application. Contact the wish family to set up wish visit, facilitate
wish visit, gather all necessary information for chapter leadership
to approve wish, manage flow of information between family and
wish department staff, deliver the wish, follow-up on wish documentation
and correspondence. Time Commitment: Maximum 10 hours per wish,
number of wishes assigned flexible, also must attend training
annually.
Wish Airport Greeter
Meets and greets the families at the airport before their wish
trip departure to help with any last minute questions or simply
assisting families with getting checked into their flight. Best
suited for an "early rise" as most families leave very
early in the morning.
Office Volunteer
Description: Assist with bulk mailing, thank you notes, data entry,
general office tasks. Time Commitment: Flexible hrs. Monday-Friday
between 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Office Volunteer-Wish
Department
Description: Wish follow-up including: thank you notes, data entry,
filing. Prepare wish team packets, follow-up on medical authorizations,
assist with wish team volunteer assignments. Other projects will
be developed based on volunteer's experience and desire. Time
commitment: Approximately one day a week. Flexible hours and days
between 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Office Volunteer-Fund
Raising
Description: Event follow-up including: thank you notes, phone
calls, filing. Assist in preparation of event packets, follow-up
on logistical needs and assist with event volunteer assignments.
Other projects can be developed based on volunteer's experience
and time availability. Time Commitment: Approximately one day
a week. Flexible hours and days between 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
